# THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS (PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION) REGULATION, 1953

> A Regulation to apply the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947 , to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.

**Act No:** EAST BENGAL REGULATION NO. II OF 1953

WHEREAS it is expedient to apply the [Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947](/laws/act-217 "Act 217") , to the Chittagong Hill-tracts;

AND WHEREAS by sub-section (2) of section 92 of the Government of India Act, 1935, the <sup><a id="fnref-1" href="#fn-1">1</a></sup> \[Government] is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of any area in which is for the time being an excluded, or a partially excluded area;

NOW, THEREFORE, the <sup><a id="fnref-2" href="#fn-2">2</a></sup> \[Government], in exercise of the said powers and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, is pleased to make the following regulation, namely:-

### Short title

1\. This Regulation may be called [THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS (PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION) REGULATION, 1953](/laws/act-1340 "Act 1340") .

### Application of Act II of 1947 to Chittagong Hill- tracts

2\. The [Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947](/laws/act-217 "Act 217") , shall apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.
