# THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS (TARIFF AND CUSTOMS) REGULATION, 1952

> A Regulation to apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts certain Central Acts relating to tariff and customs.

W HEREAS it is expedient to apply to the Chittagong Hill- tracts certain Central Acts relating to tariff and customs;

A ND WHEREAS by sub-section (2) of section 92 of the Government of India Act, 1935, the <sup><a id="fnref-1" href="#fn-1">1</a></sup> \[Government] is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of any area in his Province which is for the time being an excluded, or a partially excluded area;

N OW , T HEREFORE , the <sup><a id="fnref-2" href="#fn-2">2</a></sup> \[Government], in exercise of the said powers and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation, namely:-

### Short title and commencement

1\. (1) This Regulation may be called [THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS (TARIFF AND CUSTOMS) REGULATION, 1952](/laws/act-1356 "Act 1356") .

(2) It shall come into force at once.

### Application of certain Central Acts to the Chittagong Hill-tracts

2\. (1) The enactments specified in Schedule I annexed hereto shall, subject to the amendments mentioned in the fourth column thereof, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.

(2) The enactment specified in Schedule II annexed hereto shall, to the extent mentioned in the fourth column thereof, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.
