# THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS CRIMINAL LAW (INDUSTRIAL AREAS) REGULATION, 1955

> A Regulation to apply the Bengal Criminal Law (Industrial Areas) Amendment Act, 1942, to the Chittagong Hill- tracts.

WHEREAS it is expedient to apply the Bengal Criminal Law (Industrial Areas) Amendment Act, 1942, to the Chittagong Hill-tracts;

AND WHEREAS by sub-section (2) of section 92 of the Government of India Act, 1935, the <sup><a id="fnref-1" href="#fn-1">1</a></sup> \[Government] is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of any area in which is for the time being an excluded area, or a partially excluded area;

NOW, THEREFORE, the <sup><a id="fnref-2" href="#fn-2">2</a></sup> \[Government], in exercise of the said powers and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation:-

### Short title and commencement

1\. (1) This Regulation may be called [THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS CRIMINAL LAW (INDUSTRIAL AREAS) REGULATION, 1955](/laws/act-1359 "Act 1359") .

(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

### Application of Bengal Act IV of 1942 to the Chittagong Hill- tracts

2\. The <sup><a id="fnref-3" href="#fn-3">3</a></sup> \[\*\*\*] Criminal Law (Industrial Areas) Amendment Act, 1942, shall subject to the following modifications, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts:-

Sub-section (2) of section 1 and section 2 shall be *omitted.*
