# The Control of Essential Commodities (Extension to the Chittagong Hill-Tracts) Ordinance, 1970 (East Pakistan Ordinance)

> An Ordinance to extend the provisions of the 1 [* * *] Control of Essential Commodities Act, 1956, to the district of Chittagong Hill-tracts.

**Act No:** EAST PAKISTAN ORDINANCE NO. I OF 1970

WHEREAS it is expedient to extend the provisions of the \[\* \* \*] Control of Essential Commodities Act, 1956, to the district of Chittagong Hill-tracts; NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of the Proclamation of the 25th day of March, 1969, read with the Provisional Constitution Order, and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the Governor is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance, namely:-

### Short title and commencement

1\. (1) This Ordinance may be called the <sup><a id="fnref-2" href="#fn-2">2</a></sup> \[\* \* \*] Control of Essential Commodities (Extension to the Chittagong Hill-Tracts) Ordinance, 1970. (2) It shall come into force at once.

### Application of E.P. Act I of 1956 to the Chittagong Hill-tracts

2\. The <sup><a id="fnref-3" href="#fn-3">3</a></sup> \[\* \* \*] Control of Essential Commodities Act, 1956, shall apply to the district of Chittagong Hill-tracts.
