Preamble
WHEREAS it is expedient to apply the Sarais Act, 1867, to the Chittagong Hill-tracts; AND WHEREAS by sub-section (2) of section 92 of the Government of India Act, 1935, as adapted by the Pakistan (Provisional Constitution) Order, 1947, the [1][Government] is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of any area in his Province which is for the time being an excluded area, or a partially excluded area; NOW, THEREFORE, the [2][Government], in exercise of the said powers and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation:-Sections/Articles
Short title and commencement
- (1) This Regulation may be called THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS SARAIS REGULATION, 1951.
Application of Act XXII of 1867 to the Chittagong Hill- tracts
2. The Sarais Act, 1867, shall apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.Footnotes
