III OF 1952 W HEREAS it is expedient to apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts certain enactments specified in the Schedule; A ND W HEREAS by sub-section (2) of section 92 of the Government of India Act, 1935, the 1 [Government] is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of any area in his Province which is for the time being an excluded, or a partially area; N OW , T HEREFORE , the 2 [Government], in exercise of the said powers and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation, namely:-

Short title

1. This Regulation may be called the Chittagong Hill- tracts (Laws) Regulation, 1952.

Application of certain enactments to the Chittagong Hill tracts

2. The enactment specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall, subject to the amendments mentioned in the fourth column thereof, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts and shall be deemed to have applied to the said tracts with effect from the 21st June, 1949.

Repeal

3. The Chittagong Hill-tracts  (Laws)  Regulation, 1949, is hereby repealed.
