Preamble
WHEREAS it is expedient to apply the Bengal Criminal Law (Industrial Areas) Amendment Act, 1942, to the Chittagong Hill-tracts; AND WHEREAS by sub-section (2) of section 92 of the Government of India Act, 1935, the [1][Government] is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of any area in which is for the time being an excluded area, or a partially excluded area; NOW, THEREFORE, the [2][Government], in exercise of the said powers and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation:-Sections/Articles
Short title and commencement
- (1) This Regulation may be called THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS CRIMINAL LAW (INDUSTRIAL AREAS) REGULATION, 1955.
Application of Bengal Act IV of 1942 to the Chittagong Hill- tracts
- The 3[***] Criminal Law (Industrial Areas) Amendment Act, 1942, shall subject to the following modifications, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts:-
