Status: Active Date of Publication: 14th May, 1957 Act No: EAST PAKISTAN ORDINANCE NO. I OF 1957 WHEREAS it is expedient to apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts the Motor Vehicles Act, 1939, and the Bengal Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1932 ; AND WHEREAS by clause (3) of Article 103 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the 1 [Government] is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of the excluded area in his Province; NOW, Therefore, the 2 [Government] in exercise of the said power and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation, namely:-

Short title and commencement

1. (1) This Regulation may be called THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS MOTOR VEHICLES REGULATION, 1957 . (2) It shall come into force at once.

Application of certain Acts to the Chittagong Hill-tracts

2. The enactments specified in the Schedule below together with all rules made thereunder, shall, subject to the amendments mentioned in the fourth column thereof, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.
